At Dutch manufactory Arco almost everything revolves around tables. What makes the new model, called “Trestle”, so special? Jorre van Ast, designer and MD of the family-owned company, explains – in interview with Uta Abendroth.
Prestwich and Arco created a modern interpretation of the traditional café chair. This contemporary version has an elastic high-tech woven back, which also makes it a very comfortable computer chair. Jonathan Prestwich has now designed a bar stool version
for the café for which the chair was conceived. Yet the potential uses of Cafe Stool extend far beyond the catering industry. It is also functional in the office, at high tables used for brief meetings or at workstations that require alternation between
standing and sitting on a high seat.
