The semester project “now_unsealed” by students of the Integrative Design course at the Offenbach University of Art and Design addresses urgent environmental issues such as climate change, resource consumption and soil sealing. We present a selection of the projects.

Developed by a bathroom specialist, perfected by a designer: Kaldewei's “FlowLine Zero” shower channel combines the pioneering spirit of a premium brand with the sensual design of Studio Aisslinger. We talked to Christian Büttner, Head of Innovation and Portfolio at Kaldewei, about its new function.

Since the launch of ‘Forum For Great Ideas’, Object Carpet's carpet series impresses with its creative designs. Now the company is taking the next step and presenting the entire collection in a new, fully recyclable quality.

Jörg Boner has designed the ‘Glarona’ collection for Schätti, whose ceiling, wall, floor and table luminaires are reduced to the essentials. Thanks to the ideal interplay of form and technology, they offer an atmospheric lighting effect – both as part of an ensemble and as a stand-alone piece.

Mathias Hahn focussed on balance when designing his new chair family for Zeitraum. For the first time, the Bavarian manufacturer is now presenting ‘Aeon Stool’, a bar stool without a backrest that emphasises the organic lines of the design.

"yay" and "ohh" is a dialogue between loud and calm, similar to the interplay of different characters in a room, say Relvãokellermann. They have realised this as a multifunctional design for gumpo.

With ‘Steeve Lou’, Jean-Marie Massaud has designed a free-standing sofa for Arper that has a pleasantly airy appearance thanks to its base frame with T-feet.

A flexible seating island that offers maximum comfort: With ‘Elianto’, Norwegian designer Espen Øino for Paola Lenti created a round platform that is a great addition to both a yacht and a terrace.

Object Carpet had already worked on technologies to make its carpets recyclable for "Neoo". In the featured film, we present the further development "Duo": with just two components, the carpet celebrated its successful premiere at the Berlinale 2024.
