De Castelli: Dorica by Francesco Forcellini
Design between architecture and art
The classic fluting of Doric columns serves as the starting point for Dorica, a collection of storage furniture that reinterprets the elegance of Greek architecture in a contemporary key. The silhouettes of the cabinet, sideboard, and side table are defined by concave slats that meet at sharp edges, creating a vertical, architectural rhythm across the surfaces.
The new DeFauvé stainless steel finish amplifies this visual play: a surprising color gradient starts at the polished base and intensifies toward a deep red at the top, achieved through oxidation. Light brings the surface to life, emphasizing the three-dimensionality of the slats and creating iridescent reflections that transform each piece into a sculptural presence.
Inside, the furniture reveals glossy burgundy lacquer—a refined detail that completes the tactile and visual experience of the collection.
