Copper is a very versatile material. This fact is highlighted by KME’s TECU® Architecture Award, a competition for architectural practices and students that has just been launched for the sixth time.

The fact that rehearsal rooms need not be drab boxes despite their sound insulation is demonstrated by two pavilions in Berlin. A contributory factor here is the facade made of KME’s “TECU(R) Gold” which transforms the two buildings into glowing sound bodies.

The copper façade of the new Mulberry Park Community Hub is certainly beautiful, but it also holds a deeper significance: The striking punched pattern creates a link to the history of the site.
