DEAN takes inspiration from the streamlined racing yachts of the America’s Cup, but its elegant form is characterized by a versatility that transcends time and place. Because it integrates harmoniously with any outdoor environment or decor, DEAN is destined to become a classic of the DEDON portfolio. “I was inspired to design a collection that could mix harmoniously with all kinds of environments,” explains Massaud, “from the house built in clay, wood or glass to the private terrace or balcony of a Florida condominium.” Two years in development, DEAN has been engineered to a level of refinement rarely achieved in furniture design. All fastenings have been eliminated or hidden, leaving nothing to interrupt the collection’s clean, flowing lines. In a significant innovation to the standard slingback construction process, the sling itself fits the chair like a sock, using the frame to give tension instead of relying on special machinery.
