B&B Italia 2021: NOONU
With “Noonu”, B&B Italia is advancing the concept of the sofa as an island of comfort. The collection designed by Antonio Citterio scores heavily for both its elegant design and its flexible format.
Butterfly by Patricia Urquiola is the first textile padded seating system that enters the collection B&B Italia Outdoor. Butterfly gets its name from the “butterfly” shape created by the outer corner that joins the armrest and the backrest. It has large, super-comfortable shapes, and responds effectively to the need for modular furniture, proposing a freely combinable, informal use. The ottoman is the base piece of the project. When integrated with the backrest and/or armrest, it becomes a central or terminal element, either left or right. The combination of these elements, using a simple joint system, makes it possible to freely set up versatile configurations: in-line sofas, corner solutions, front-facing layouts that make conversation easy, and a full relaxation layout that pairs two chaise-longues. Completely padded, it leverages the company’s production technology with solutions designed to take indoor-quality seating outdoors. It has all the qualities that make it ideal for transversal projects, from hotels to marine applications.
