At Dutch manufactory Arco almost everything revolves around tables. What makes the new model, called “Trestle”, so special? Jorre van Ast, designer and MD of the family-owned company, explains – in interview with Uta Abendroth.
Tre is a series of playful pieces of furniture that can be installed anywhere as handy occasional tables – either individually or as a group. The designer describes the tables as real domestic utensils – pieces of equipment for the home. These descendants
of the simple farmhouse stool stand out on account of Trampedach’s very sophisticated use of materials and meticulous detailing.
Last year, Arco introduced the Tre tables: a family of light-hearted pieces which can be used anywhere as useful side
tables, alone or as a group. Genuine domestic utensils for the living environment.
In response to the huge demand for coffee tables, the range has been further expanded to include a series of low rectangular and oval tables. These can not only be
used alone but also in combination with the side tables, creating a captivating "landscape" of low tables. Beautiful to look at and highly practical: use what you need, exactly when and where you need it.
