ClassiCon: Soft Stone Sofa von Gabriel Tan

At the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, ClassiCon is unveiling Gabriel Tan’s modular sofa system for the first time with the Soft Stone Sofa. Eleven combinable modules, comprising cubic, asymmetrical upholstered elements, allow for flexible configurations ranging from a single sofa to a spacious seating arrangement.
Inspired by the stone terraces in Porto’s Parque da Cidade and the sculptural works of Isamu Noguchi, the design translates massive, architectural forms into a soft, organic upholstered landscape with a monolithic effect.
A multi-layered construction comprising a wooden frame, springs, differentiated foams and down ensures comfort and controlled sinkage. The system is modular, expandable and can be customised. Different covers alter the feel and appearance; all are removable and interchangeable.
In this way, the sofa combines sculptural presence, technical comfort and high design flexibility.
