Unity of concept

With a view of Lake Möhnesee in the Sauerland region, an apartment building has been constructed that combines clear architecture and energy efficiency. Products from drainage specialist Dallmer help to ensure that this standard is maintained right through to the bathrooms.

The Möhnesee is one of the largest reservoirs in Germany. With its wooded shores and rolling hills, it is a popular destination for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation. It is here, in this scenic setting, that an apartment building has been constructed that combines modern living with an exceptional location. The building comprises 21 residential units covering a total area of 3,248 square metres and was designed by Hartung Architekten. The special hillside location of the site placed high demands on the preparatory work: complex special civil engineering work secured the basis for the project. The result is three harmonious structures, connected underground by an underground car park, which blend elegantly into their surroundings with their clean lines. Open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious loggias create bright rooms that feel directly connected to nature. Barrier-free access, intelligent building technology and spacious outdoor areas round off the concept. ‘The design followed the complex topography in order to achieve the best possible view of the lake,’ according to Hartung Architects. At the same time, sustainability played a central role in the planning: as a KfW Efficiency House 40, the new building meets high energy standards. Geothermal energy and optimised insulation significantly reduce energy requirements and make the building an example of future-oriented construction.

Equipping the bathrooms with the ‘CeraWall Pure’ shower channel and the ‘400 Vario’ washbasin siphon from Dallmer is also a sustainable choice. ‘CeraWall Pure’ is made of folded stainless steel and is installed visibly at the transition between the wall and floor. Its integrated cross slope ensures reliable water drainage, while its clear design creates a subtle connection between the wall and shower area. In combination with the ‘DallFlex’ drain housings, the channel can be installed quickly and securely. The tool-free click-in sealing sleeve reduces effort and minimises sources of error. The design is easy to clean and meets all requirements for standard-compliant sealing. The ‘400 Vario’ washing machine siphon is designed as a concealed solution and offers a space-saving connection for two appliances at one connection point. The technology disappears behind a stainless steel cover plate, creating a tidy appearance. A backflow preventer and separate chambers ensure safety and functionality, even when the washing machine and dryer are running in parallel.

This apartment building on Lake Möhnesee shows how architecture, energy efficiency and well-thought-out details can be combined to create a harmonious overall concept. Products such as the ‘CeraWall Pure’ and the ‘400 Vario’ from Dallmer ensure that this standard is also evident in everyday use – and contribute to the unique comfort of living by the lake, which goes beyond the fantastic view.
