Kristalia 2022: TONBO
Kensaku Oshiro has designed the "Tonbo" chair for the Italian furniture manufacturer Kristalia, whose backrest refers to a shy creature of nature.

Does a hole exist or not? Everything would suggest that is does not and yet a hole has a shape and occupies a space, just like an object. When asked to design a round version of the iconic Holo table, Kensaku Oshiro started again from that hole and the oval shape, its hallmark feature and created a base support for the top. Solid and sculptural, the base support is painted in the new “Exclusive colours” finishes, the result of research by Kristalia’s powder—coating centre. The top with its round or organic shape and tapered edge is now also available in marble. More than a table, Holo Pillar is proof of the material existence of holes.
