The Bo Stool is a singular, handcrafted seating object conceived by Destroyers/Builders for Hem as part of a limited edition. The Bo Stool is characterised by its sculptural silhouette and the careful selection of materials: flamed Tulip Wood is shaped into naturalistic blocks and assembled into a heroic primitive structure. Each Bo Stool is hand-signed and produced as an individual piece, meaning small variations occur and each item remains one-of-a-kind.
Craftsmanship and a contemporary design language meet in the Bo Stool. Every stool is shipped with a complimentary 70 x 100 cm PROPS poster, included with the piece. Hem has stated that all profits from the PROPS collection will be donated to Design Can to support a more inclusive and accessible design industry. This gives the Bo Stool an added dimension as a purchase that supports a wider cause.
The Bo Stool functions both as a sculptural object and a practical seat, making a strong statement in residential or exhibition interiors. The tactile, hand-finished wooden surfaces and the solid massing of the tulip wood blocks give the Bo Stool a warm, organic presence that complements modern interiors while remaining a distinctive focal point.
