Axis Low Table

Year of design: 2006 | Design: Michael Marriott

The Axis table consists of four turned wooden legs that support a glass tabletop. The structure is held together by a bent steel axis. The axis, as reflected in the design’s name, is the table’s principal ingredient. The feature was developed

from an initial idea to use an X-frame as a table chassis. A bent steel bar with a knuckle at each end supports the wooden legs that in turn support the glass top. Not only does this provide the uniting, practical support for the table it is also a disti

nctive design feature as the powder-coated metal stands out strongly against the table’s wooden legs and is clearly seen through the glass tabletop. A family of low and dining tables is now available.
